Why I’ve Lost Interest in GTA 6!

Hey everyone, welcome back to Big Banji! This is Sam, and today I want to talk about something many of you have probably noticed: why my interest in GTA 6 has completely faded and why I’ve stopped making content about it.

Little History

If you’ve been following my channel for a long time, you’ve likely seen that I don’t discuss GTA 6 much anymore. The last video I made about it was around nine months ago, when I discussed why some game publishers seemed apprehensive about GTA 6’s release. Since then, there has been no new video on the topic. The reason is simple: my excitement for GTA 6 is just gone.

I’m sure many of you feel the same way. The game was officially announced in 2023, with a trailer promising a 2025 release. But here’s the reality: not only has the game missed that window, but it’s also now expected toward the end of 2026 after multiple delays. That’s when my expectations started to fall apart. I kept thinking, “Okay, 2025 it is, I’ll get a PlayStation then to play GTA 6.” When that didn’t happen, I thought, “Fine, maybe mid-2025.” But every delay made it harder to stay hopeful.

My Frustration

When I realized the game was pushed again, I felt genuinely frustrated. I could’ve bought a PlayStation a year ago if I had known this was going to happen. Instead, I kept waiting for that “GTA 6 launch bundle” moment, which never came because the launch itself kept slipping away.

At this point, the delays have drained all my enthusiasm. Some people might think I’m saying this just for views, but honestly, I don’t care about GTA 6 anymore, not even 1%. When a game doesn’t deliver regular updates, new trailers, or any real information, it’s tough to stay interested. GTA 6’s entire news cycle feels backward: long gaps, one trailer every year or so, and endless fan theories that go nowhere.

And let’s not forget the burnout. Every other gaming content creator seems to have a GTA 6 video. My YouTube feed is full of the same titles: “New GTA 6 Leak!” “Rockstar Update!” and so on. It’s incredibly exhausting. I used to enjoy browsing gaming content casually, but now half the videos have GTA 6 in the title. Honestly, just seeing it makes me tired.

Loss of Excitement

What’s worse is the overload of leaks, speculations, and theories. It’s been years of the same noise, and the excitement I once had back in 2023 or early 2024 is completely gone. I’ve even started to wonder if I’ll still enjoy the game once it finally launches. It’s been over two years since I genuinely played GTA V for fun. Sure, I load it up sometimes for content, but my personal enjoyment ended long ago.

No matter which platform you open, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, GTA 6 content is everywhere. It’s suffocating. There are so many other amazing games releasing, like Forza Horizon 6, Fable, and others, but the community seems stuck on an unreleased title.

I Bought a PlayStation 5 for Other Games, Not GTA 6

And by the way, for those wondering: yes, I recently bought a PlayStation 5, but not for GTA 6. Once upon a time, that was the plan. Now, I bought it purely to enjoy Sony’s exclusive titles and review games before the next wave of big releases, including GTA 6 itself. This way, I’ll have diverse and meaningful content ready for the channel.

So yeah, my interest in GTA 6 is gone, and it’ll stay that way until the game actually releases and I play it myself. No trailer or leak can rebuild that hype for me now. I know many of you are feeling the same way, it’s completely normal. When a game’s hype drags on for too long without payoff, burnout is unavoidable. But luckily, that feeling won’t last forever. Once GTA 6 is finally out, that spark will probably reignite, and we’ll all dive back into it with fresh excitement.
