We Didn’t Expect Ananta to Be THIS Good!

Ananta is turning heads in the gaming world after its developers released a stunning gameplay trailer and demo. This open-world title draws heavy inspiration from games like GTA, Spider-Man, Prototype, and Batman, but combines their elements into a unique package. Originally known as Project Mugen, it’s developed by Naked Rain and has been rebranded as Ananta.

Story and Setting

You play as an SD Agent, a Special Task Force Captain tasked with protecting your city. To do so, you take on multiple roles: delivery driver, streamer, cook, hacker and more. The main location is Nova Inception Hub, a vibrant Japan-inspired city. Over time, additional AI-generated cities unlock, keeping the world fresh and dynamic.

The environment is interactive. You can engage with NPCs, play mini games, take photos, pet cats, participate in races and even create ripple effects that impact the world.

Gameplay Features

  • Movement options include running, climbing, parkour, swimming and swinging through the city like Spider-Man
  • Full vehicle access: cars, bikes, helicopters and more
  • Physics-driven combat lets you use environmental objects, similar to Sleeping Dogs
  • Ability to switch between four playable characters mid game, each with unique powers and traversal styles
  • Striking cel-shaded graphics give the game a vibrant look
  • Powered by a heavily customized version of the Unity engine

Platforms and Release

Ananta will launch next July for PC and consoles as a free-to-play title. Mobile versions for Android and iOS are planned for 2027–2028, featuring cross-play with all other platforms, potentially making it the first open-world game to do so.

Why It Stands Out

While it borrows mechanics and ideas from other games, its execution is fresh and exciting. Blending multiple gameplay styles with a modern setting and dynamic environments could make Ananta a standout hit.

If the final release matches the quality shown in its demos, players can expect a polished, well-optimized experience that could change expectations for free-to-play open-world games.
